The Knight’s Move
Acrylic on stretched canvas
100 cm × 100 cm
A game of strategy, intellect and quiet anticipation.
The Knight’s Move brings together a cast of chess pieces, each with its own distinct character, in a carefully composed study of perspective, balance and form.
Rendered in a muted palette of soft sage greens, gentle greys and warm blush tones, the oversized pieces create an intriguing interplay of light, shadow and scale. Their sculptural forms rise from the contrasting geometry of the chessboard, creating a sense of both stillness and underlying tension.
A contemporary still life that explores the beauty of considered moves, unspoken possibilities and the timeless art of the game.
A contemporary realist acrylic painting depicting oversized chess pieces arranged across a black-and-white chessboard. Rendered in soft sage green, muted grey and blue-green tones, the sculptural pieces include kings, queens, knights, bishops, rooks and pawns. Gentle highlights and shadows create depth and dime
