Love Note
Original Artwork | Kate Harkin
A quiet declaration of love, captured in the simplicity of three words — I choose you.
Set against a soft pink backdrop, a fragment of handwritten paper evokes a sense of nostalgia, intimacy and the enduring beauty of a personal note.
Understated yet deeply sentimental, Love Note explores the power of simple words and the meaning we attach to them.
Painted in acrylic on stretched canvas and presented in a beautiful solid oak floating frame, this intimate work is designed to sit comfortably within a curated interior. Its petite scale lends itself to bookshelves, bedside tables and personal spaces, while also allowing for traditional wall display.

Freestanding or ready to hang
Love Note depicts a fragment of torn, lined notebook paper, its delicate creases, irregular edges and handwritten words rendered with careful attention to detail. A small piece of aged masking tape holds the paper in place against a soft, muted pink background, while subtle shadows create an illusion of depth and dimension.
The handwritten declaration, I choose you, sits at the centre of the composition, evoking the intimacy of a personal note and the quiet nostalgia of a cherished keepsake. The simplicity of the composition, gentle colour palette and contrast between delicate paper and textured canvas lend the work a contemporary, understated elegance.
